The Apprenticeship Levy is already giving employers, including the county council, a real opportunity to invest in high quality training. We’re growing and developing our existing workforce and recruiting amazing apprentices that contribute to the skilled workforce we need to thrive and succeed in the future.
Following government reforms, we are able to work with other organisations in the county who want to take on new apprentices and develop their existing employees. As a large levy paying employer, we can now transfer up to 25% of our apprenticeship levy funds to employers who want to train their staff using apprenticeship qualifications - helping to boost skills and knowledge across the county.
The transfer of the levy pays for the training delivery, not the salary of the apprentice. WSCC can provide the levy transfer to fund the apprenticeship qualification for up to four members of staff per organisation.

Important: before beginning your application you must know which apprenticeship standard you are applying for and have identified your preferred training provider. Ensure that they meet your workforce development needs within the organisation and that the training provider is listed on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP) as a provider qualified to deliver the chosen apprenticeship standard and establish the planned start date of the training and length of the apprenticeship.
