Sussex Better Business for All poll

Closed 13 May 2020

Opened 14 May 2018

West Sussex Trading Standards is a member of Sussex Better Business for All (BBfA), which is part of a national scheme that brings together businesses and regulators to consider and change how local regulation is delivered and received.

Our key objectives are to:

• establish a partnership between local regulatory services and Sussex business that helps support the local economy

• help Sussex businesses access the compliance support and guidance they need to save time; save money; and ‘get it right first time'

• work together to simplify and coordinate the local delivery of regulatory services

One way in which we do this is to organise regular Sussex BBFA EXPOs with invited keynote speakers addressing current concerns raised by Sussex businesses. Recent speakers have addressed concerns about workplace apprenticeships, general data protection rules, and cybercrime, in addition to, fire safety; business continuity; and the benefits of the Primary Authority. The events are held in central locations around Sussex, such as Eastbourne and Horsham, and provide good networking opportunities, as well as a chance to consult with local regulators. For more information on upcoming events please go to the Sussex Chamber of Commerce Better Business for All webpage.

Another way in which we help local businesses is put on joint regulatory training events such as our popular ‘Gain and maintain your 5-star rating and food allergen due diligence workshops’. These workshops give Sussex food business operators the tools and knowledge they need to protect their customers and business from harm. Tickets for these workshops are available through the West Sussex Learning and Development Gateway.

Sussex Better Business for All is supported by local businesses representatives and regulators including:

Why We Are Consulting

As part of this on-going work we are keen to consult as many of our local businesses as possible. Please take 2 minutes to give us your honest feedback. Let us know what keeps you awake at night and what you think Sussex Better Business for All can do to help you. The answers to the survey will be reviewed on a regular basis by the Sussex BBFA members so we can best tailor our services to meet your needs.
