Closed 28 Nov 2017

Opened 31 Oct 2017

Results expected 8 Dec 2017

Feedback expected 18 Dec 2017

Overview

Number of children have been rising across West Sussex for several years.  The consultation document below summarises proposals for primary and secondary schools across West Sussex, particularly in Bognor Regis and Midhurst, to expand to cater for existing or future demand.

We would like to know whether there is support or not for proposals to expand existing schools and any comments, concerns, advice or views on how this might be implemented.

We will be holding a number of drop-in sessions for people who would like to come along and discuss proposals in person.  Details are as follows:-

Tuesday 7 November 2017, 2.50pm - 6pm

Felpham Community College, Felpham Way, Felpham, Bognor Regis, PO22 8EL

Wednesday 8 November 2017, 3.30pm to 6.30pm

St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Glamis Street, Bognor Regis, PO21 1DJ

Monday 13 November 2017, 2.30pm to 6.30pm

Easebourne CE Primary School, Wheelbarrow Castle, Easebourne, Midhurst, GU29 9AG

Why We Are Consulting

To raise awareness and seek feedback from the community on proposals to provide additional school places at a number of existing schools in Bognor Regis and Midhurst in West Sussex.  Below is the consultation document which is also attached below the 'online survey'...

If you need this information in an alternative format, please contact us on 0330 222 3046. Or you may wish to ask the school office and school administrators will be happy to help or contact the above number on your behalf.

What Happens Next

Consultation closes on 28 November 2017.  Results will be forwarded to each individual school governing body for further consideration.  The West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, Richard Burrett, will take a decision on whether the Council publish statutory notices in the New Year which offers a four week representation period before a final decision on whether to expand the schools.  This is likely to be by the end of February 2018.
