We at West Sussex County Council provide services to more than 850,000 residents every single day. We are here to keep your families and children safe and educated, to look after you in your later years, and to help you stay independent for longer.

We provide a fire and rescue service that is there for you in an emergency and that works hard to prevent emergencies happening. We support businesses and your local economy and continue to develop and grow West Sussex to be a place you are proud to live and work in.

As a County Council we spend more than £533 million a year on your behalf and we take that responsibility extremely seriously.

In October 2017 we published our West Sussex Plan which sets out our priorities and commitments for the next five years.

The priorities outlined in the plan are:

  • Best Start in Life
  • A Prosperous Place
  • A Strong, Safe and Sustainable Place
  • Independence for Later Life
  • A Council that Works for the Community

The plan contains our vision for West Sussex and how we will achieve it. It also sets out how we intend to meet those commitments and how you will know whether we have been successful.

Why We Are Consulting

We would like to ask you which of these priorities and related service areas are most important to you going forward.

Please help us to understand your views by completing this survey.  It will only take a few minutes but will make a huge difference to how we shape the future of West Sussex.

This Survey closes on 16 July, 2018.

Free Prize Draw - Win £500 for your favourite local charity! **

Those taking part in the survey are eligible to be entered into a free Prize Draw to win a £500 donation for their favourite West Sussex based registered charity.

Why not have your say and see if you can win £500 for your favourite local charity?

West Sussex business owners - we want your views too!

It is really important we hear from business owners as well as residents and voluntary and community organisations.  If you’re a resident and business owner, and want to provide answers from both perspectives please fill in separate surveys - one as a business owner and one as a resident. If you have any queries regarding this, please email us at haveyoursay@westsussex.gov.uk.

What Matters To You Survey for children and young people

There is a shorter version of this survey for children and young people who would like to participate and have their say.  This can be filled in at any time by clicking here or by typing  www.westsussex.gov.uk/wmty2018 into your browser.
