Early Years DfE COVID-19 Return 008

Closed 6 May 2020

Opened 6 May 2020

Overview

The early years and childcare sector is part of a critical national infrastructure providing care for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children in response to COVID-19.

It is crucial that the government has up-to-date information on what early years and childcare provision exists during the Covid-19 pandemic; which children are accessing it; and any availability or other problems that may be arising.

From Monday 6 April, local authorities are being asked to provide information on the status of the early years and childcare settings in their area, twice a week. This includes the number of providers currently open and the number of children attending.

Given the rapidly changing situation we are asking all providers to please complete this short online questionnaire every Wednesday and Friday. The survey will be open for 24 hours each day, closing at midnight. Reminders will be sent out via the broadcast email.

I recognise that you will already be incredibly busy, and under significant pressure at this time, so thank you in advance for your co-operation with this process and for the information you are able to provide.
