Early Years Funding Formula Consultation

Closed 17 Jan 2021

Opened 4 Jan 2021

Overview

A change to the pass-through rate was proposed to West Sussex County Council Cabinet in December 2020. We are now consulting on how to change the funding formula to ensure that early years providers have the funding to support all children to access high quality early years provision and to narrow the learning gap for the most vulnerable children.

Please answer the following questions in conjunction with the ‘West Sussex County Council: Early Years Funding Formula Briefing and consultation document - January 2021’ provided as an attachment at the bottom of this page, to share your views on how the base rate and the deprivation supplement should be managed within West Sussex.

Once you have read and considered the briefing document (provided at the bottom of this page in the Related Section), this consultation should only take you approximately 10 - 15 minutes to complete.

Why we are consulting

We are now consulting with childcare providers, as per national guidance to secure your views and opinions on the allocation of the Dedicated Schools Grants (DSG) to early years providers. Please take this opportunity to have your say by completing this consultation. West Sussex County Council will use your responses to inform County-wide decisions and set Free Entitlement policy in West Sussex.
