Invitation for Schools Finance Community to attend a Training/Demo of the new ‘West Sussex Services for Schools’ in order to support the 2017/18 Buy Back Process commencing Spring 2017
West Sussex Services for Schools is our single central portal for access to information, correspondence and support services to enable school leaders and staff to focus on successful teaching and learning. Managing schools is demanding and requires access to information and policies as well as effective support services. It is important for all concerned that we get this right and that our services are seen as a positive factor in promoting good education.
Our primary objective since the launch of the WSSfS in September, has been to ensure that schools can access weekly correspondence and all the required information about services purchased during 2016/17. In the Spring schools will make their 2017/18 buying decisions and purchases using the simple self-service process for accessing and calculating service provision via the West Sussex Services for Schools.
Financial pressures mean that schools in West Sussex need to test value for money and to ensure that core resources are used to best effect. We offer access to a portfolio of support services provided directly by West Sussex County Council or its partners. The services are compliant with legislation and the statutory duties of schools and the Council.
Prices are not displayed on the public area of West Sussex Services for Schools. Therefore, under your School’s scheme of delegation, if you have responsibility as a ‘Budgetary Approver’ or ‘Purchase Requester’ you will have been issued with logins/passwords thereby giving you access to establish prices for services for your educational setting for 2017/18 Buy Back. SLA Packages & Prices for 2017/18 will be published in the New Year (date to be confirmed) in order to support school ‘self-service’ purchasing decisions through West Sussex Services to Schools.
