As part of the implementation of the West Sussex Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Strategy 2016-2019 and a review of existing specialist provision it is proposed to amend the agreement for provision at the Special Support Centre at Hazelwick School so it is in line with actual need and take up of places.

It is proposed to reduce the number of places we commission at the Special Support Centre from September 2018 from 8 to 4.  This is due to consistently low numbers of pupils requiring a place at the SSC and is line with current demand, as well as ensuring that the County Council makes the best use of available resources.
